Y'all inspired me to a cold ride.

  • I had some people to visit and pray with 50 miles away. After being on this site for a week, though it was 53 degrees, I left out on the bike. I'd misplaced my winter riding gloves, but I'm tough. I put on the summer mesh perferated gloves and headed out with a smile on my face. In the sun, it wasn't bad, in fact, it was down right enjoyable. On the way back I realized it was much colder with the sun already down. Now I needed anything to put over the summer vented gloves to survive.

I went into a store and all they had were the old Mule Work style gloves. Hmmm, people were staring at me in a Joe Rocket jacket and pants. Those mule work gloves just really set the outfit off. I put them over the mesh gloves, and off I go. I saw a couple of deer on the side of the road, passed one truck and that car I saw coming in the distance was a state trooper. He turned the inside lights of his car on and back off as if to say, "Cool it dude!"

I passed a temp. sign on a bank that read 47 degrees. Ok! It was airish. Well, even my feet got cold, and those mule work gloves had let the cold through some 25 miles back. Hey, the bike was shining, running smooth, it was great, and it does get airish on a FZ6 when it's 47 degrees after dark. I'd do it tomorrow if I were free, and will do it again  I will find those winter riding gloves first though.

  • TriGlideRider If you dress for, cold weather riding is super fun. No bugs to wash off and usually less traffic. I have an electric jacket and electric gloves. Anything above 40 degrees is excellent riding and if it gets colder than that, find something to keep your...  more
