Memorial Day Ride

  • What a great day for a ride.

I set out early in the morning while it was still cool out and just took off, not knowing where I was going or when I would be back.

I started out going to a great little town of Gainseville, Texas nestled right along the Texas/Okl border and known for its designation of A Medal of Honor Host City, the only town in the country with this designation oficially from the United Stated Congress.

A town that every year for 1 week out of the year they host on average 10 Medal of Honor Recipients for the public to meet and get signatures then top it all off with a huge Military parade you could put up against any big city parade.

I then went west out of town to a little spot called Lindsey and had me a nice helping of BBQ at the Smokehouse.(I will be back)

Further west to Nocona to just hangout and do nothing because there is basically nothing to do there.

Made my way back and East of Gainseville back to the South where I live in Tioga are some of the most beautiful horse farms in the world.

There is every kind of a horse ranch you can think of so I just cruised and enjoyed the beauty of the horses and the wonderful facilities it takes to train these horses.

I eventually made my way back to my little 10 acres in the world and spent the rest of the day relaxing and thinking about all the men that have given their lives to allow me to do what I had just done.

    BE FREE......All I can Say is.......THANK YOU

  • LCStrat I love those kind of jaunts and getaways. The bike always draws people to a conversation. Just think of the all the places we go that we'd never stop in except for the bike, and the people we meet along the way. Yes! We are, indeed, blessed.
